The First NS Area was formed on the 1st December 1973 with the merger of the former 1st and 3rd N.S. Corps.
Under the leadership of the then Area Commander, Mr. Lee Chak Kwan, the Deputy Area Commander Mr. Lam Chee Kong and the Area staff Officers, the First NS Area has grown to be one of the largest and most active Area in the State.
One of the activities held was the 1st Annual Cadet Camp which was held from 13-15 December 1975 at Chung Hua NTP (C) School, Telok Kemang, Port Dickson. The Area Secretary cum Area Staff Officer (Cadets), Mr. Lai See Ming (now SJAM Acting Chief-of-Staff (Operations)) was the chairman of the camp.
For the past 35 years, our Competition Teams have been winning the NS State First Aid and Home Nursing Competitions and represented the State in the National Home Nursing & First Aid Competition. They always did the State proud by winning trophies year after year. In 1985, the Nursing Cadet Team reached the acme of success when they beat Singapore Nursing Cadet Team in the Malaysia-Singapore Competition and brought back to Malaysia the Tan Sri Dr. Runme Shaw Challenge Trophy.
In 2003 and 2004, our ambulance cadet teams did us proud when they emerged as National Ambulance Cadet Champions at the National First Aid and Home Nursing Competitions.
Presently the First NS Area is made up of four Cadet Divisions (First Seremban Ambulance Cadet Division, First Seremban Nursing Cadet Division, First Seremban Combined Cadet Division, Second Seremban Combined Cadet Division), the 10th Combined (Adult Division) and three Junior Division from SRK St. Paul, SRJK(C) Sin Hua and SRJK Java Lane.
Over the years, the First NS Area has been very active in playing its role as a centre for moulding leaders. Under the leadership of its past and present officers, the First NS Area has continued to grow from strength to strength. The First NS Area was always in attendance during athletic meets and was always on hand to render first aid.
